What is CrypticPitch?

CrypticPitch is a music player for Jellyfin, a free, self-hosted media server. It streams your own music library — songs, albums, artists, playlists, and favorites — with offline downloads, lyrics, CarPlay, and Apple Watch support.

What you need

A Jellyfin server you can reach, plus your Jellyfin username and password. CrypticPitch is a player only — it does not host music itself.

Getting started

Open CrypticPitch and enter your server address (for example https://music.example.com), your username, and password.
Tap Sign In. Your library appears on the home screen.
Tap any song to play. Use the mini player or the full Now Playing screen for controls, lyrics, and the queue.

Common questions

It won't connect. Double-check the server address (including http:// or https:// and the port if needed) and that your server is reachable from your phone's network. If you use a VPN or private network to reach your server, make sure it's active.

Sign-in fails. Confirm the username and password work when you log in to your Jellyfin server directly in a web browser.

No albums or artists show. This usually means the server's library needs a scan or its folder structure isn't set as a music library — manage that in your Jellyfin server settings.

Downloads. Use the download option on a song, album, or playlist to save it for offline listening. Downloaded music lives on your device and plays without a connection.

CarPlay / Apple Watch. Sign in on your iPhone first; your library then appears in CarPlay and on the Watch.
